FAQ
The questions Sophie really gets, with her answers. If yours isn’t here, write in: she’s the one reading.
Booking
No. IHow does a booking request work?
You describe your project in five steps on the Book an appointment page: type of piece, style, size, placement, references, budget and availability. No calendar to book: Sophie looks at every request and offers you a date.
Sophie answers every request personally within 3 working days.
No. IIDo you have to pay anything when you request?
No. Payment only happens once the date is set: a QR code and the IBAN are sent to you to pay the deposit by bank transfer. 30% non-refundable deposit, deducted from the final price. One free reschedule is possible with more than 48 hours’ notice.
No. IIICan you bring someone with you?
Yes, gladly: the studio is welcoming and there’s room to settle in. We just keep the workstation quiet during the inking, for a steady hand.
No. IVDo you tattoo minors, even with parental consent?
No, never. The studio is for adults only, no exceptions, parental consent or not. Photo ID may be asked for on the day of the session.
Pricing
No. VHow much does a tattoo at SpookySo cost?
The session minimum and the ranges by size are published on the Pricing page. Every project gets a written quote before the session: no surprises when it’s time to pay.
No. VIIs the deposit refundable if I cancel?
30% non-refundable deposit, deducted from the final price. One free reschedule is possible with more than 48 hours’ notice. In other words: you can move the session at no cost by letting us know in time, but the deposit isn’t returned if you cancel, because it covers the drawing already started.
No. VIICan you pay in instalments?
For large multi-session pieces, yes: the overall quote is settled session by session. For a piece done in one session, the balance is paid the same day, by cash or bank transfer.
Pain and healing
No. VIIIDoes it hurt?
Yes, a little, and honestly it depends mostly on the area: forearm and calf go fine, ribs and nape sting more. Fine line is among the gentlest styles. Breaks are part of the session, and you never have to ask twice.
No. IXHow long does healing take?
The surface heals in 3 to 4 weeks, and deeper down the skin finishes its work over about two months. The full day-by-day protocol is on the Aftercare page, with a PDF version.
No. XI’m on medication, can I still get tattooed?
Often yes, sometimes with precautions. The request form has a list of health points to flag: ticking a box doesn’t rule you out, Sophie simply talks it through with you, and with your doctor if needed.
Studio policies
No. XIWill you copy a tattoo seen on Instagram?
No. References are there to show a style and a mood; Sophie doesn’t copy another artist’s tattoo, and never tattoos the same design twice. That’s the whole point of the one-off piece, flash included.
No. XIIWhat happens if I arrive late?
Sessions run one after another by appointment: a short delay we can make up, a big one may mean rescheduling. Let us know as soon as you can, everything is easier to sort out ahead of time.
No. XIIIWhat languages are sessions held in?
In French or English, and occasionally a little Dutch, from the first conversation to the aftercare instructions.
No. XIVHow do you choose a tattoo artist in Andenne?
Look at healed work first, not just the fresh photos: that is what shows how a piece ages. Check that the studio is registered and works single-use, and trust an honest first exchange, one that also tells you what isn’t realistic. SpookySo works black in all its forms in Andenne, from fine line to blackwork; for photo realism or manga, Sophie will point you to another artist rather than force a piece.
