This site was set in the spring of 2026 for Sophie Guiot, tattoo artist at The Backrooms Studio, Andenne. Drawn, written and built by hand, with no bought template and no page generator.

No. II · Typefaces

Playfair Display For titles and flourishes: its italics carry the poise of an engraved cartouche.

Inter For body text: chosen because it knows how to step back behind the message.

Amatic SC For pencil notes in the margin, and nothing else.

JetBrains Mono For dimensions, dates and plate numbers: the voice of the ledger.

No. III · The craft

Pulsar Framework and PHP on the server. The stylesheets are written by hand on the studio’s design tokens: no page builder, no interface library, no advertising tracker.

No. IV · Commitments

Accessibility: AA contrasts, focus states visible with a pink outline, 44 px touch targets, reduced motion respected, four languages treated as equals.

Performance: light pages, four typeface families loaded sparingly, no superfluous scripts.

No. V · Photographs

The photographs of Sophie Guiot and the studio on this site are by Lenny Obez. The thumbnails in the Instagram section come from the studio’s account.
